I have many fond memories of Janet. After LBI we did some traveling along with Alberta Bergren, calling the travel, the "School of Experience". We had so much fun and it was just a neat time in our life. We got jobs along the way, going to Washing ton, down the coast to California and then working our way back to Minnesota. We were gone about a year.  Janet went to England and lived there for a while, married and had 2 children. With her family she moved to Canada.  She died in 2009.

Jean White (Formo) (1966)

I too have fond memories of Jan Kittleson. Friendly and funny, Jan was often put in charge of supervising Sunday night suppers in the school kitchen - good thing too - she was probably the most mature of us kitchen workers. Tempted as we were to have TOO much fun amidst the cold-cuts and jello, and in the absence of the head cook, we managed to take care of business under Jan's watch. It helped that we all looked alike in devastatingly attractive hair nets as we dished up for others. Our foreheads were imprinted with tell-tale thin red lines for a good two hours after Sunday supper, proof of our dedication to our culinary employment. Mostly I remember Jan laughing and taking life and school in stride. She was adventurous and fun! I can imagine that she was a wonderful wife and mother. It was a gift to know her.
