Lois Burmeister, age 86, died Decemer 18, 2020 in Allentown, PA. Born in Palisade Minnesota July 19, 1934 to Ivan H and Anna (Ihle) Burmeister, she was preceded in death by her parents, siser Ruth E. Burmeister and an infant brother, Willis Burmeister. She is survived by cousins in Minnesota and Colorado, and by many friends. She devoted 39 years of service within the Lutheran Church. She worked for 4 years as a Field Missionary in Africa and then was assigned to the financial department in New York City at the headquarters offce for the Lutheran Church in America (LCA). In 1988, when the LCA comined with the American Lutheran Church (ALC) she moved to th newly formed Chicago headquarters of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of  America (ELCA) as Director of Financial Services where she managed to merge the two separate ALC and LCA financial divisions into one financial system. After retirement Lois moved to the Allentown, PA area and completed travels to all  7 continents. She saw Northern Lights near the Arctic circle and penguins swim in Antartica. She climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa, walked the Great Wall in China and visited her ancestry in the Scandinavian countries and Europe. When safe, a memorial concdert will be held at Luther Crestm, Allentown.
