Comments:

I've lived a blessed and full life, with a music ministry in the 70s and 80s, doing vocal concerts with either guitar or piano accompaniment, this evolved into a prayer ministry in the 90s. I had a wonderful life with my first husband. I woke up each morning to his singing songs he made up while fixing breakfast. He died in a horrible car accident in 2000. A year later, God brought another man into my life and we were told to get married and be a ministry team. He was a retired lawyer and we lived a life style I never had imagined. Our ministry went international, as we were involved in spiritual warfare, street ministry, giving programs on Hans Nielsen Hauge and more. We were to Israel 4 times and I have been to China 7 times - initially doing street evangelism, and later trips doing consulting work with the Chinese staff of a ministry. I was in the same area of China where the Norwegian American missionaries worked. One woman, Anna Hauge Martinson, in particular comes alive each time I portray her. She went to China with her husband in 1902, and became a widow in 1913, but stayed in China until her death at age 101, in 1969.

Currently very involved in Blue Grass / Gospel music, both jam sessions during the school year and festivals during the summer. {guitar and singing}

I have been a Sabbath keeper for 15 years, and very involved in the study of the Hebrew Roots of our faith.

50 years after I started playing the trombone, I bought the instrument I wanted to play, a flute! I play in a city band (Fairmont), and in a small group called Windy Women. Also playing accordion and piano.

School Story:

Graduated from LBI in 1966. Worked for a year in Mpls, went to Europe with the choir, then parish worker in Mississippi for a year. Was inspired to go to college by an 18 year old retarded boy. Graduated with Bachelor of Music degree in Music Therapy. Worked 12+ years as music and recreation therapist. Got Master of Science degree, became counselor, and eventually Licensed Psychologist and Lic. Marriage and Family Therapist. I retired in 2009.

Janet, I was just reminded of you as I have sorted through Karen's photos and writings. She made up a time line of her life and included our trip out to see you. I am a bit confused though as she indicated that she and I had made two trips to CO.

Wow, 26 years in child protection. You deserve a medal.

Karen died 12 years ago, from the cancer treatments on her heart and lungs.
